2024 riding season
by Editor on 03/24/24
It was sooooooooooooo good to be back behind bars again!
Have a safe riding season everyone.
An eventful start to the 2024 riding season
by Editor on 03/23/24
Stopped at Green Lake for a picture on the first ride of the year.
Shortly after taking this pic I rode up on a couple that were having motorcycle trouble in the middle of nowhere up in the mountains. The guy asked me if I would take his girlfriend to their house so she could get the truck and go back to pick him up. Happy to help another rider we started off but 15 minutes later we were stopped by the fire department as the road ahead was shut down due to two cars on fire. So we turned around went back to her boyfriend, explained the situation & took the long way to the next town out of the mountains then took the highway to the town where they lived to get the truck.
It was a memorable way to start the season.

Harley-Davidson dealership BANNER to promote the launch of the 2002 V-ROD
by Editor on 03/11/24
For Sale: These banners were sent to select Harley-Davidson dealerships (not all dealers got them) to promote the launch of the 2002 V-ROD. These were not available to purchase by the public. I don't know how many of them were made but what I do know is there wasn't an abundance of them. I was able to get this one from the Trev Deeley Harley-Davidson Dealership which is the oldest dealer in all of Canada at over 100 years old now. Deeley was the importer for all Harley-Davidson motorcycles and parts for all of Canada. Meaning any dealer wanting something from Harley-Davidson Milwaukee USA had to go through Deeleys.
It is made of fabric, not sure what type and is 71.5 inches long and 26.5 inches wide.
I've had it in my garage for over 20 years and there are NO tears or rips on it.
But it does have some white dots on it from when a brittle bottle of Maguires wax exploded on me LOL, I took the brunt of it but the banner got some too. My wife figures it would wash out just fine on a delicate cycle or even hand wash and be hung to dry. (but not in the dryer.)
Because of the rarity of this unicorn collectible and never being able to the public to purchase the price is $1,200USD + shipping & all PayPal fees. Might sound like a lot but that's what it would take for me to part with this crowning jewel in my collection Click here to if you would like to purchase

VROD Screamin Eagle 16 gauge exhaust kit 64798-02
by Editor on 03/07/24
Very excited to have found this genuine Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle 16 gauge double barrel muffler kit, part number: 64798-02 for our 2003 VROD.
It's in excellent condition & will give better performance than a stock set up & the chrome is in perfect condition. I had a system like this years ago and loved it, not too loud but just the right amount of sound.
Best part is no more noise complaints are harassment from cops with ticket books like with the last aftermarket 2 into 1 exhaust...
VROD floorboards disassembled
by Editor on 03/06/24
Decided to take the floorboards apart for cleaning, during re-assembly I used anti seize on the pins with blue locTite on the threads. I also switched the left & right floorboards so the best looking one is on the right side. Then used little silver touch up paint on a few chips on the mounts.
Tip: put some grease in the holes before inserting springs to hold them in place & a dab on the spot where the ball bearing sits to prevent it from taking off on you.
Also: The mounts are steel & the floorboards themselves are aluminum in case you're wondering and weigh 3.136 pounds each.
Genuine Harley-Davidson VROD passenger floor boards pn: 51024-02
by Editor on 03/05/24
Going to install these Genuine Harley-Davidson passenger floor boards (pn: 51024-02) on the silver 2003 VROD. They will give Diane better foot placement now that I've switched over to the Corbin saddlebags. I bought these used and there are some scratches on them but if Diane does indeed like them better than I'll most likely disassemble them and have them chrome plated.
