VROD rear wheel plan

This solid aluminum rear wheel from the 2003 Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary VRSCA VROD isn't in the best of condition. I've seen worse but unsure if polishing alone will bring this wheel back.
Sanding might be the only option to get good results.
However, I really don't wanna go the 7 steps of sanding to make this wheel perfect, so I'm going to see how good I can get it with polishing.
