PIAA waterproof switch mount for motorcycle
by Editor on 02/14/11
The two bolts on the left hand grip bracket is seemed like the best place to mount the water proof on/off switch for the PIAA H.I.D. cross country lamps. These H.I.D lights will be used when the V-Rod's high beam is on, so having beside the hi/lo head light switch made the most sense. I started with a cardboard pattern and traced it onto a piece of sheet metal and cut it with sheet metal sheers. Once the holes were drilled I spent a lot of time filing the bracket to follow the contours of the clamp. Now that the desired shape was there, it was time for sanding, polishing, and final fitting to the clamp. Here's a picture of the finished product mounted on the bike.
(This bracket will work on a wide variety of makes and models of motorcycles, there is a down-loadable pattern of the finished bracket available for a small donation of $10.00 contact Jeff for more info).
