Broken Harley Davidson Exhaust Heat Shield repair

by Editor on 03/22/17

The heat shields on the Harley-Davidson Vrods are held onto the exhaust pipes by a hose clamp which slides through a bracket that's spot welded to the back of the heat shield. These quite commonly brake....

The best way to fix this problem is have it welded back on, but I was concerned that might damage the chrome. After searching out products to reattach the bracket I chose JB Weld's High Heat Epoxy.

The directions for usage were followed and the heatshield is back on the Screamin Eagle 16 gauge pipes on our 2003 Harley Davidson Vrod camera bike.
