Alpinestars Frontier touring jacket test ride
by Editor on 07/24/11
I started my testing of the Alpinestars Frontier touring jacket with a ride to Princeton, British Columbia, a 491 kilometers day round trip. It was a beautiful day, blue sky, sunshine and 25 degrees, a perfect opportunity to try out the ventilation system. It consists of two large chest panels that unzip and tuck into the jacket, and a huge rear panel exhaust port that also tucks into jacket. Having the chest and back opened up provides unbelievable airflow and definitely kept me cool. There is also ventilation in the wrist up the forearms with a double zipper, and the upper arm vents have a single, and provide excellent cooling as well.
The Bioarmor elbows and shoulders were comfortable and so was the PE padded foam chest inserts and back protector, both of which allowed good airflow.
I have posted 50 detailed pictures of the jackets key features here
