Thought it may have been a little early to ride to the Apex Mountain Ski Resort but the road was pretty good, free of sand and rocks but a few pot holes needed to be dodged.
ROCK found in VROD radiator shroud

I have NEVER seen this happen
Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the size of this rock in the radiator shroud. Roughly and 1 1/4 in length and weights 15 grams.
Incredibly lucky that it didn't put a hole in the oil cooler or radiator, my guess would be it hit the oil line or maybe the side of the shroud then fell to the bottom
Back story: I was riding up in the mountains on a paved road and heard something hit the bike, unsure what the heck was going on I pulled over to check the bike. Didn't see any obvious damage I just assumed whatever it was bounced off the chin spoiler. It wasn't until I got home and shined a flashlight into the shroud I discovered the rock. VERY LUCKY

Seven common species of snakes in the South Okanagan

There are seven common species of snakes in the South Okanagan: Northern Pacific rattlesnake, Desert night snake, Great Basin gopher snake, Yellow-Bellied racer, Rubber Boa, Western terrestrial garter snake and the common garter snake.
I spotted this large snake (approximately 5 1/2 feet long) and was able to get a bike length from him & had enough time to take a quick pic. Unsure of the exact species (Rattler or Gopher) that's as close as I got.
Once home I went to Google for answers and concluded it was indeed a Great Basin Gopher snake.

Genuine Harley-Davidson knurled brake pedal pad on this slotted brake arm is OEM on the 2006 CVO VRSCSE2 VRODS and is a very nice addition to my 05 compared to the black rubber one.

On the left is the OEM footpeg and brake pad inserts for a 2005 VRSCSE CVO VROD.
On the right is the OEM footpeg and brake pad inserts for a 2006 VRSCSE2 CVO VROD. I like the chrome ones better but I will keep the stock inserts in a box with all other OEM parts I've switched on this bike.

2006 VRSCSE2 CVO VROD Knurled footpeg inserts

I've always liked the footpeg inserts on the 2006 VRSCSE2 CVO VROD better than the basic black rubber pads on my 2005 VRSCSE CVO VROD so I was happy to find these brand new ones on eBay.
