VROD Wheels
by Editor on 12/15/20
These wheels have been on a journey, sent to Ruthless Designz in Myrtle Beach to have them machined with their 930 design, then I broke out the elbow grease and polished them myself sanded the rotors, sanded and polished the pulley and compensator bowl. Here they are all assembled, torqued to spec and ready to mount on our 2003 Harley-Davidson VROD carbon fiber camera bike.
Trev Deeley Motorcycles customer service
by Editor on 12/12/20
HUGE SHOUT OUT to the folks at Trev Deeley Motorcycles & TDMC Customs for impeccable customer service!
Thank you Chris, YookieMonster, Lorne, Lennard & the rest of the TDMC team!
You guys & gals are AWESOME!
I bought my first Vrod from Trev Deeley Motorcycles back in 2003 and was actually on the waiting list in 2002. That's the bike that Diane and I rode across Canada in 2006, we were the first people to do that ride coast to coast on a Vrod! That trip was 18,786 kilometers, 2 up, no support vehicle and with the stock 3.7 gallon fuel tank.
VROD wheel parts

Update on the wheels for the 2003 Harley Davidson Carbon Fiber Vrod build.
Wheels were cut by Ruthless Designz with their 930 design, then I polished them by hand. Then I hand sanded and polished the pulley and compensator bowl. Thought I was done until inspecting the rotors and decided to sand down all the inside edges exposing the bare metal which I then coated with clear coat to prevent oxidation. Next, all the rotor bolts & compensator bolts were cleaned with alcohol completing the final prep work prior to assembly.
Vrod rear pulley front and back views
by Editor on 12/09/20
Final stages of sanding and polishing on this Vrod rear pulley. When working on the backside I decided to sand and polish that area because it can be seen at certain angles when looking through the slots and in the reflection of the wheel. The outer ring is made of steel, not aluminum so I left it as is and the other area I left raw will be covered up by the compensator bowl.
Tricks to polish aluminium wheels

Front wheel is done, now it's the rear wheel's time to shine.
Made up a DIY wheel stand with two chairs and a broomstick to do the final polish on this rear wheel before installing it on the bike.
