These brake rotor bolts have been sanded with 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000 grits of wet/dry sandpaper then polished with AutoSol and clear coated to prevent oxidation.

Here's the 2003 VROD rear brake disc after sanding and polishing all the inner edges and the flat surfaces with with 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000 grits of wet/dry sandpaper then polished with AutoSol.
No real point in doing the contact surface as the brake pads will score it up on the first ride.

Keep it stock or customize

After giving it a lot of though, I think i'm going to keep this bike stock, in my opinion it's just too rare of a motorcycle to customize....
Two-Tone Candy Blue and Dark Candy Blue 446 bikes produced in that colour.
The blue is the rarest and after calling Harley-Davidson customer service line they were able to break that number down further for me:
Out of the 446 VRSCSE Vrod produced:
- 325 were domestic USA
- 36 were for California guidelines
- 65 were HD International (assuming in kilometers but depends on country sent to. No information available on exact numbers of KPH and MPH
- 20 were for Canada.

It took 8 hours of sanding with 220 grit to do ONE side of this wheel....
The pitting was some of the deepest I've seen and there were very deep scratches and gouges, some as deep as the thickness of a fingernail. My guess is from the last time the wheel was removed and the brake caliper was not out of the way. (Probably for a tire change)
Mark my words, this is the last wheel I restore.
VROD Rear Wheel Restoration

Time to restore this rear wheel from a 2003 Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary VRSCA VROD.
I will be using the same process as the front wheel restoration so it seems repetitive to shoot 6 videos of the same process. This video is to show the "Before" and upon completion I'll post the "After".
My process will be: wet and dry sanding with 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000 and the polish.

The restored front wheel is back on the VROD, time to remove the rear and start doing it, as well as the pulley, compensator bowl, brake disc and bolts. That should keep me busy till Spring...

The restoration of this 2003 Harley Davidson Vrod front wheel is finally complete:
Sanded with 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000 grits of wet / dry sandpaper then polished with AutoSol. Wheel, Rotor tabs and edges, Rotor bolts.

It came in what I can only describe as a jewelry box for a ring.

The final touch on this front wheel restoration is to sand and polish the rotor bolts with 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000 then polish with AutoSol.

The how many fingers am I holding up test

When polishing wheels I rely on the internationally renowned "How many fingers am I holding up" test to determine clarity quality. Looks like this wheel needs to be polished one more time.
