VROD chrome starter
by Editor on 03/20/23
Well against my better judgement I went on eBay to look for Vrod parts and stumbled across this chrome starter. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the OEM starter that's currently in the 2005 VRSCSE CVO VROD but it isn't chrome.
The starter takes up a pretty large chunk of real estate on the engine so it'll really stand out when installed.

VROD water pump removal
by Editor on 03/14/23
After seeing the condition of the original bolts I decided to be proactive and replace the gaskets and O rings of the water pump. There wasn't any coolant coming out of the weep hole, that's when you know the gaskets or O rings gave out, but looking at what I found it wouldn't have been much longer.

Protecting a Vrod frame
by Editor on 03/11/23
Harley-Davidson added this piece of membrane (top) to protect the paint from the key fob rubbing on it while riding. The OEM protective membrane was showing it's age so I removed it and made a template to cover the entire frame tube instead of just half. Bottom pic has the full membrane on it right to the joints.

Harley-Davidson VROD chin spoiler
by Editor on 03/08/23
Not sure how many colour matching blue chin spoiler were produced by Harley-Davidson but there can't be many considering there were only 446 motorcycles made in the two tone blue. I was incredibly fortunate to have found one and i have done my best to restore & protect it the best I can.
Before and after pic using Maguires scratch x 2.0
Then made a template, transferred to 3m Protective membrane. Applied to chin spoiler to protect from any further rocks being shot up from the front tire.

New chrome clutch cover for CVO VROD restoration
by Editor on 03/05/23
The original clutch cover had a small blemish in the chrome so it was replaced with this near mint one that I've had stashed away for such an occasion. Replacing the metal gasket wasn't necessary but I had a new one here so in it went. The final touch was using Colony 2172-16-P, Alt and Derby Cover Screw Kit to fasten it into place. If you're interested in buy this chrome bolt kit, here's the link

Two-Tone Candy Blue and Dark Candy Blue 446 bikes produced in that colour.
The blue is the rarest and after calling Harley-Davidson customer service line they were able to break that number down further for me:
Out of the 446 VRSCSE CVO Vrods produced:
- 325 were domestic USA
- 36 were for California guidelines
- 65 were HD International (assuming in kilometers but depends on country sent to. No information available on exact numbers of KPH and MPH
- 20 were for Canada.

2005 VRSCSE CVO VROD clutch cover removed
by Editor on 02/22/23
The original clutch cover on the 2005 VRSCSE CVO VROD had a couple of blisters in the chrome, luckily I had a mint condition one stashed away. Unfortunately the mufflers and volume collector had to be removed to get at it, but while all that's off I can do a deep cleaning on everything.

VROD chin spoiler / radiator cover protective membrane
by Editor on 02/13/23
One of the problems with the Harley-Davidson Vrod chin spoiler / radiator cover is the paint gets damaged from rocks and debris from the front tire. In an effort to protect this Unicorn part I decided to make this.
VROD chin spoiler / radiator cover
by Editor on 02/10/23
These genuine Harley-Davidson chin spoilers / radiator are very rare, and commonly called a unicorn part. BUT to find one HD colour matched blue one for a 2005 VRSCSE CVO is wholly grail unicorn rare...
Here's a before and after being OCD cleaned, cut waxed, then three more grades of wax.
