VROD air filter assembly modification

Vrod owners have been going topless for years, where they remove the top half snorkel of the air filter assembly. Then some have gone farther and trimmed away the bottom half of the air filter assembly leaving only the necessary surface for the filter. This is know as the "Budget MotoHooligan"
Thought I'd finally give it a try and on my goodness am I glad I did!
The bike now is able to breathe as it should and when I grab a fist full of throttle it sounds like the old muscle cars with a Rochester Quadrajet carb when the secondaries fully open up!!!!
